Carolina Rito was the guest speaker for the lecture series, The Decolonial Paradox of the Portuguese Revolution: A Curatorial Rehearsal about the Colonial Continuities in Contemporary Portugal, at Humboldt University in Berlin. This series gathered prominent experts to examine the diverse archives of the Portuguese Revolution—including film, literature, art, and the history of science—against the backdrop of the revolution’s 50th anniversary. Rito’s presentation offered a curatorial perspective on material culture, discourses, moving images, and aesthetic phenomena, such as public iconography and exhibition displays, by comparing, contrasting, and juxtaposing these elements.
